Six Silly Uses of the UV Filter
People sometimes ask me, what is a typical day like in the life of a nature photographer? Well, I respond, there often IS no typical day. A surprising amount of administration comes with the job of photography (correction: with the job of trying to live off your photography). And as the industry has changed so much in the last decade, there is much to learn to create products with your photography. For example, Darwin and I have just posted our latest eBook on Visual Wilderness entitled Essential Filters for Digital Photography. Filters continue to be a popular topic of interest at our workshops and seminars and yet many shooters (even self-described ‘advanced’ shooters) don’t know how to use them. We hope to get you started with this eBook.
Back to that ‘day in the life’ question. Would you believe dressing up in strange costumes and videotaping ourselves doing silly things? (No, not that kind of videotape you dirty-minded person you!) But to ‘celebrate’ the release of the eBook, we also put together a silly video on UV filters. These filters are still being pedalled by salesmen yet they really do nothing for digital sensors. So, watch the video if you enjoy dumb jokes and photographers making a fool of themselves. And I would love to hear your suggestions as to what you think would be a great use of the UV filter!
Hey Sam, you and Darwin are a riot!!! I loved the video, especially the costumes. Thanks for the laugh. 🙂
