Fabulous Film Fridays, July 29, 2011 – In the Beginning…

In the beginning, there was Darwin and Sam.  Darwin was a professional photographer who enjoyed picking up young, single ladies on his photo tours and workshops.  Sam was a disgruntled lawyer and frustrated artist.  Sparks flew in the cold winter air when these two met!  (Or maybe that was Sam’s colourful language as she attempted to navigate her film camera with frozen fingers.)  In any case, it was love at first shutter click for this pair!  Darwin introduced Sam to the psychedelic pleasures of blue-gold filters, and Sam introduced Darwin to great beer.  Only a few months after meeting, they were dancing the night away at a friend’s wedding.  From the archives then, we have recovered these treasured, forgotten moments captured with Sam’s high-end, Keystone EV520 (autofocus) film camera.  It’s amazing what you find when you develop film found in old cameras five years later!!
